Carpet Fibres & Types
Common carpet fibres include:
- Nylon: Durable and stain-resistant, ideal for heavy traffic.
- Polyester: Soft and budget-friendly but less wear-resistant.
- Wool: Luxurious, natural, and eco-friendly.
- Olefin: Moisture-resistant and suitable for basements. For heavy traffic areas, nylon is the best option due to its durability.
- Twist pile: Tightly twisted fibres for a durable, textured look.
- Loop pile: Uncut loops for resilience and texture.
- Cut and loop: A mix of both for patterned designs.
For bathrooms, we recommend using hard floors, like LVT and Vinyl, both products are suitable for underfloor heating.
Furthermore, we do have Carpets and Underlays that are compatible with underfloor heating, as long as the overall tog rating does not surpass 2.5.
- Waterfall style: Carpet flows naturally over the edge of each step.
- American/Hollywood style: Carpet is tightly wrapped around each step for a tailored look.
Hard Flooring Options
- Vinyl sheet: A seamless, water-resistant flooring option.
- LVT: Mimics wood or stone, offering First-class durability and easy maintenance.
- Laminate: A cost-effective, durable option with realistic designs.
- Engineered wood: A real wood veneer over a stable core, combining beauty and stability.
Consider your space’s use, style preferences, and budget. LVT is versatile and water-resistant, while engineered wood adds warmth and character.
The Underlays
Yes, underlay improves comfort, insulation, and floor longevity. For LVT, underlay will not be necessary as at Right Floorings we only recommend the glue-down product.
Use non-slip underlay or grippers to keep them in place and prevent movement.
Product Maintenance
- Carpets: Vacuum regularly and spot clean stains promptly. Use professional cleaning for deeper maintenance.
- Smooth floors: Use a microfiber mop and manufacturer-recommended cleaner to maintain shine and prevent damage.
Intec is a stain-resistant treatment that protects carpets from spills and dirt, prolonging their lifespan.
